LIFE - PLANTS

SEPTEMBER: LIFE - PLANTS

From the BBC/Discovery Channel series, Life, the world of plants comes vividly to life in high definition through the use of time-lapse photography. In one spectacular sequence, shown in this excerpt, an entire growing season of an English woodland is shown in one continuous shot, running slightly less than a minute. The photographic wizardry necessary to pull off this feat took over two years of meticulous planning, which is featured in the “making of” documentary that follows the short film.

Running Time: 14 minutes.

SPIDER’S WALK

OCTOBER: SPIDER’S WALK
Undeniably entertaining and exceptionally creative, this animated film comes from the film festival collaborative HD Fest. Presenting quality High Definition material, HD Fest is the world's only high definition film festival. Spider's Walk, by Eric Wagner, presents the tale of a lonely spider that crawls into an attic window one dark and stormy night to discover a little more than shelter from the rain.

Running Time: 4 minutes.
